This book has a few problems. This book is not a true heist, despite its promising title “Dragon Heist.” The hidden treasure is more Indiana Jones-like than Ocean’s 11.

While it is still entertaining, you will need to customize the experience to meet your expectations.

Next issue will feature maps. Wizards has switched cartographers, moving Mike Schley to Dyson logos in this issue. This is quite polarizing, to put it mildly. Although Schley’s maps are rich in color and detail, some people find them difficult to read and hard to reproduce at the table.

Logos’s new maps are in the exact opposite style. These maps are simple, bare-bones sketches that lack any nuance or detail. Personally, I prefer Schley’s style to Logos (especially for online and digital tabletop play), but the new maps are a disappointment in an otherwise premium product.

Your mileage may vary depending on your feelings about the styles. Please know that I have always appreciated Dyson’s contributions to the gaming community. His free map collection is a treasure trove for tabletop DMs.

His maps, however, feel out-of-place in the context of what they are in. They feel more at home in titles like Adventurer League or DMs Guild and out of place within a premium product with rich visuals from the previous volumes.
